Meet Carmen Londono

Initially I was drawn to the networking aspect of it. I am a small business owner and am always looking for a way to network with other like minded individuals. When Rauner won the gubernatorial race and started making some of the decision he was making, decisions that directly were impacting my household I decided to dig a little deeper in the org. The biggest push for me was when the 2016 presidential elections was over.  I was ALL in! State of affairs is bananas yet I am optimistic. The people I have met and the education I myself have received by way of other women looking to empower me has been fuel.

I want to help women make decisions based on facts not fear. I am passionate about supporting women in any way I can. In the end this will make us all stronger.

What matters to you in the Community?

At a recent rally I recently introduced my youngest daughter Nadia to our soon to be representative. My daughter then turned to me and asked me, “Mom who do you represent?”. I looked at her and told her that I was there to represent her. My daughters matter to me in my community. Your daughters matter to me in my community.

Equity in Special Needs Education, Human Trafficking and Immigration are at the very top of my list.

Who are you Professionally?

I co-own The Insurance People with Alexandra Eidenberg and my husband Jorge Londoño. We are a full service brokerage firm. Although I am well versed in all lines of coverage, my personal specialty lies in Health Insurance for the individual and small business as well as home and auto.

I also own a Promotional Goods Co with my husband. It is called Biz Swag Pros. and we work with you to find the right product that will serve as an extension to your brand.

Tell us more about your personal life?

I am married to one of the most generous and amazing human beings on the planet. We have 2 adult daughters and are still busy raising two girls and a boy. So, lots of activity in our home. We love to travel and try to do that often. I love to cook and create content for my food blog when I can. I published a book in 2012 called Letters for My Daughters. It is a book full of unsolicited advice from a mom along with favorite recipes.

What is your Fun Fact about you?

I have done background vocals and voice over work in the past.
